The knights of the roundtable return. These informal discussions are meant to explore ideas about how the arts and the media shape our individual lives and our life as a community. They’re always fun/interesting, so you should come and bring a friend (artsiness not required). RSVP to Steph (sfitton@umich.edu) by Wednesday if you’re gonna go.
We'll be continuing our 40-days series on the classic spiritual disciplines (Prayer, fasting, and alms-giving). This week, John Keating will be speaking to us about fasting. He is an excellent speaker and a great one to speak on this, so don't miss it. Also we'll have a big block of time to worship.
Location: Campus Chapel
Stay posted for another sweet Agape event - no formal details yet but you can be sure it will include serving those in need...
Talk to Colin (colseanm@umich.edu) or Jane (janelee@umich.edu) if you're interested.
Join us as we wrap up our Bible Study on the Book of James. Dr. Dan Keating will return to share his thoughts with us. This has been a fruitful study and this last segment will, I'm sure, be no exception.
It all takes place tonight at the Campus Chapel.
You are most cordially invited to join us for the evening in
celebration of SHAPE, an exhibition of work by student and alumni from
UCO-Michigan! Plan on awesome artwork, musical performances, hors d'oeuvres,
seeing friends from across the state, and . . . formal attire. Come looking
classy like James Bond never could. Tickets are on sale for $5 in advance, $7
at the door. Contact Sarah Cravens (smcrav@umich.edu) about getting tickets
while they're hot off the press; send all other event- and attire-related
questions to Steph (sfitton@umich.edu). This is going to be a great night
celebrating a year in the arts - see you there!
This Saturday we will be hosting the third and final course in our series on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This week we will primarily be focusing on the gift of tongues - what is it, how can/should we use it in personal and corporate prayer times, how is tongues misused, etc. We'll also be open to questions on any topic relating to gifts of the Holy Spirit. The format will be discussion based, with a chance to share wisdom, experience, and our own struggles and questions with one another. Please let Dallas (dallasburkholder@gmail.com) know if you are planning on coming. This should be another excellent time to explore more deeply some of the many things the Lord has for us. Hope to see many of you there.
We'll be continuing our 40-days series on the classic spiritual disciplines (Prayer, fasting, and alms-giving). This week, along with our regular block to worship and praise the Lord, Kevin Hadsall will be speaking to us about alms-giving. Kevin is a good friend of mine and an inspired speaker and disciple, and I think this topic will be a most-interesting one. Come along and bring a friend!
Location: Campus Chapel
The Williamsons are opening
their house for a UCO Seder, for the third year in a row! For those who have never done a Seder before, it is an adapted
version of the typical Jewish Passover feast. Christians pray these prayers in the light of Christ, our Paschal Lamb - I find it to be a very rich set of prayers (and the food is also great).
Those of us in the Western Churches celebrate easter today - He is risen! He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!
Kevin Hadsall will be bringing us the third in our three-part series on the classic Spiritual Disciplines: Alms-giving. You can also count on a good time of praise and worship.
Location: Campus Chapel
The rumors are true - this is going down. Worship with your brothers and sisters from across the state (Hillsdale, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Calvin, Detroit, etc.) - It's going to be great. More details forthcoming on this..
That's right - the last one of the term! In this time together we hope to have a sort of "year in review" where we look at where God has taken us, what he has spoken to us, and what he has done among us. It should be a great time.

Another awesome tradition - meet at Frank's diner on the first study after the last day of classes. Come start the day of studying (or procrastination, as the case may well be) in the best way you know how - with some sweet french toast and good company.
The grand finale is upon us - let's go out with a bang (proverbially!). This is a great UCO tradition, celebrating the closing of another year and all
the Lord’s blessings to us. We’ll pray, have a chance to honor our graduates,
and send people out for the summer, all the while feasting on the most scrumptious food
available, and enjoying excellent company. There may (read: will) be some dancing afterward as well. Basically you won't want to miss this. Since we’re gathering to honor what the Lord has done in
our midst, we ask that all dress 'nicely' (guys: dress in semi-formal ties). If you want to help in some fashion, let me (jdhughes84@gmail.com) know.
Keep these brothers and sisters in your prayers as they begin an intense time of prayer, discipleship and spiritual learning.

We will be on Central Campus again this year for Festifall and encourage you to stop by our booth if you are able to during this time. We would love to meet you and explain a little bit more about what we are about.
If you are unable to attend Festifall, but would still like information, please contact our Mission Leader: David Williamson.
UCO Continues the Tradition of Awesome and Rediculous Opening Parties...
This year we will witness the clash of three opposing worlds: the sabre-slashing plunders of the waves will meet the prim nobles of the Victorian Ballroom with the occasional interposition of undead brain-eaters (unsubstantiated rumors also predict a ninja or two lurking in the shadows).
Join us at Catherine Street for snacks from the briny mess barrel, as well as Victorian dainties. Potable delights include tea and grog alike (non-alcoholic).

We are continuing the tradition again this year! Join us at Franks in downtown Ann Arbor for Saturday Morning Breakfast.
Lord's Day is happening in the YK Lounge of South Quad from 5:30-9:30 (ish).
What is Lord's Day? Lord's Day is an opportunity for Christians to celebrate the coming of the Sabbath. The idea of it was taken from the Jewish Passover celebration and has been incorporated with Christian elements. We will be having some prayer and worship before the meal as well as some fellowship with Christian brothers and sisters afterward.
But I don't want to miss the game!... At 7pm, a group of people will be gathering to watch the game...
Join us at the Campus Chapel from 8-9:30pm this Tuesday. Lynne will be speaking to us about Prayer and we will be taking some time to worship.
Also, join us afterwards at Pizza House for some fellowship with friends.
Because everyone's on break, those who are in Ann Arbor tonight will be going out to Za's for dinner and then to Quality 16 to see Where the Wild Things Are at 7:10pm.
I hope you all can make it!
Because of fall break, there will be no UCO Prayer Meeting tonight.
Have a Great Break!
We will be coming back together our week after break for our regular Prayer Meeting. Our talk this week will focus on having Expectant Prayer.
Join us at the Campus Chapel for Worship, a Talk and Fellowship.
We are trying this again this year and will pray against any plans for rain (which prevented us from enjoying this Maze last year).

Please bring $5 to cover the cost of the Maze and dress warmly!
